THE FELT EXPERIENCE

The basic biology of our menstrual cycles is the kind of information that we ALL should have been taught in school. It’s foundational to understanding ourselves as women, as humans and to discover the amazing complexity of how we function.

We need information about the science of what’s happening with our hormones, reproductive systems and how our bodies actually work. But we equally need to understand the felt experience of our own cycles.

Through practical, tactile and embodied ways of understanding and knowing yourself on a deeper level working with the rhythms of your menstrual cycle, you can know yourself in such a way that you don’t have to geek out (unless you want to!) on the science to reap the wisdom that exists in your cycle process.

In this mini-course, we'll cover some of the science fundamentals you should know and how to get intimate with the felt experience of your own cycle and the immense magic that it holds.

YOU ARE DESIGNED TO LIVE CYCLICALLY!

Our energy levels, our emotional, mental and physical state, constantly change, and that’s a very natural thing. Except that… we’ve been taught by our Western world view, that consistency is key, that maintaining the same energy levels day in day out is what is needed to keep achieving and to be successful – productivity is everything. However, this kind of ‘maintenance’ doesn’t work for most women, simply because we are not designed that way. We are cyclical, which means that, like the seasons of nature, and of life, we move in cycles – not in linear, straight lines.

Your menstrual cycle is your ‘in-built’ tool that constantly gives you feedback about your:

  • overall health and wellbeing > mental, emotional, physical, energetic
  • energy management – your cycles of productivity and rest
  • stress levels – where you’re pushing against yourself
  • relationship with different aspects of yourself (i.e. wild, siren, wise, critic)
  • boundaries – where you say yes or no too much or too little

Your menstrual cycle is an incredible resource through which you can:

  • understand yourself more deeply
  • learn to identify and meet your own needs
  • feel your connectivity to nature and the cycles of life
  • take care of your body better
  • learn to flow with your own rhythm and work with your own energy rather than push against it

And these are just a few.

Learning to tap into the rich wisdom contained within your cycle is to fully use the intelligence that exists within you, so that you can bring your life into full alignment with your own rhythm and who you are.

And when you do – a healthier, more energised, and happier you will emerge.

FAQ

  • Who is this mini-course for and not for?

This class is for those who want to understand their menstrual cycle and how to work with your cycle, rather than against it. For those who experience or have experienced a natural menstrual cycle, it will be easier to integrate these teachings as you have/had the lived experience to reference. However, the mini-course can be take by those who are interested to understand cyclical living and who want to become more aware of menstrual cycles. If you've already taken foundational courses, know the fundamentals of your cycle, know how to chart, and have explored your menstrual story, then this mini-course may not be what you're looking for.

  • How long will I need to do this mini-course?

I suggest taking a day to explore all the elements of this mini-course as a gift for yourself. However, depending on your reading time, you can also complete this mini-course in about 3-4 hours from start to finish. You may want to read the e-book resource first, take time to digest it and continue with the rest of this mini-course. It’s up to you what feels right but it’s important to go through the course in order as each piece builds upon the one before.

  • Is it a live course?

No. This is a self-paced mini-course with downloadable materials, which you can do in your own time and repeat as many times as you’d like. You’ll receive a welcome email with immediate access to the class to get started NOW.

  • How is this mini-course delivered and how long do I have to access it?

Everything is delivered digitally to you. So you’ll need an email address, computer, internet and access to a printer if you choose to print the PDF’s (recommended). There are downloadable materials and you'll watch the videos on this class platform. You'll have access to the course for as long as it's available (minimum 12 months) which includes all updates and extensions at no extra cost.

  • Is this class refundable?

This mini-course is delivered in the form of digital goods which are accessible immediately. For this reason, I do not offer refunds. Please read the content description fully before you purchase, so that you are clear what you're investing in. If you're still not sure if this mini-course is for you, contact me with your question.

  • Can I take this mini-course if I am in peri-menopause?

Yes! If your cycle is irregular or erratic because you’re peri-menopausal, work with the cycle that you currently DO have.

  • What if my cycle is always irregular? Can I still do this mini-course?

If your cycle is irregular or erratic due to health or stress related reasons, then work with the cycle that you currently DO have. You may find that the process of giving deep attention to your cycle helps to regulate it. There are many reasons for erratic cycles and as I’m not a medical doctor, I’m in no position to diagnose, however, slowing down so that you can reconnect with a rhythm that is intrinsic to your own body, is healing and allows you space to hear your own body wisdom. (please read the disclaimer section below).

  • Does this mini-course apply to women who don’t have a menstrual cycle? E.g. post-menopausal, on hormonal contraception, you don’t have a cycle for medical or health reasons, are pregnant, breastfeeding or are a trans woman?

Yes it can. See each point below. For those who have experienced a natural menstrual cycle, it will be easier to integrate this work.  If you’re on the pill or other hormonal contraception, then you will not experience a natural cycle, but a period that is a result of withdrawal from the drug. This means that because you don’t experience the natural movements of fluctuating hormones through a cycle, you also won’t experience the physical, emotional, mental and energetic changes that go along with that. You can still participate in this course with the cycle that you do have, however, your experience may be much more subtle. To explore this further, I highly recommend ‘Period Repair Manual – Natural Treatment for Better Hormones and Better Periods’ by Lara Briden ND which contains information about the kind of period you do have when on hormonal contraceptives.  If you don’t have a cycle for medical or health reasons or because your reproductive system has been removed, then you can still do this course and re-engage with the energy of cycles while tuning into the pelvis as an energetic space. It’s also possible to tune-in to the energetics of cycles by following the moon’s cycles.  If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, this mini-course may not be applicable to you at the moment, but you can return here when you’re ready.  It is important for those who do/have bled to reclaim the knowledge, power, mystery and intelligence of their cycles for self and collective empowerment. However, I am aware that not all people who identify as women bleed and that not all people who bleed identify as women. I want to be as inclusive as possible, because it’s important that ALL people learn about menstrual cycles. Everyone who menstruates and those who identify as women are welcome here to learn about the power of cycles and cyclical living.

  • Will this class still benefit me if I’m post-menopause?

Yes it can. If you don’t have a cycle because you’re post-menopausal, you can follow the cycles of the moon. Exploring in this way can be an opportunity to reclaim knowledge from your menstrual years that can give you deep insights into The Language of You. How to chart post-menopause is included in the e-book, however, if you’re looking to learn more about menopause, then this is not covered in this mini-course.
